Bradgate Park and Abbey Pumping Station Leicester - Saturday 25th June 2016
On Saturday 25th June the opposite sides of Morris Dancing met when local 'Cotswold Morris' side Braybroke Morris Dancers were invited to celebrate the 25th Anniversary of the formation of Bakanalia Border Morris who are based near Leicester at Glenfield.
A day of Dancing started in the morning in Bradgate Park with another guest side Ansty Royale Chalfont a womens clog and garland side. We entertained visitors to the Park along with some deer who were oblivious to the inevitable noise when Morris sides meet. After a picnic lunch provided by the hosts the dancing moved to a very busy Abbey Pumping Station where another Border Morris side 'The Way of the Wyrd' from Loughborough entertained a large crowd with some'Molly Dancing'. The finale was around 4.45pm by which time everyone had danced enough and retired to Glenfield Scout Hut for refreshments and cake. A fitting end to the celebrations."
