The Queens Head -Billesdon - Wednesday 22nd June 2016
Always a 'highlight' of our Dancing out season. The Celebration of Mid Summer Wednesday at Billesdon
usually involves other sides. For the past 3 years it has been Bakanalia Border Morris and New Saint Georges Morris and this year was no different.
Plenty of witty banter and chat and a slightly 'competitive' air about the evening makes it a great night. The weather was also kind with early evening sunshine on the trees opposite the Pub causing all sorts of confusion with camera exposure meters. And storms and pestilence forecast by the weather people didn't arrive until we were all on the way home. Highlight of amusement was Braybrooke inventing a new ending for Upton Stick Dance. Aided and abetted by Jonathon Una who, dances for Rutland Morris, and lives in the village we managed a good turn out in the circumstances.
Not so lucky on 30th June for The Cherry Tree at Little Bowden as this is our 2nd cancellation of the season - and it may not be the last.
