Desborough Millenium Green Fete - 16th July 2016
Unlike the corresponding event in 2015, which was miserable and wet Saturday 16th July will go down as 'a belter'. Clear blue sky with a few whispy white clouds and temperatures high enough to make you perspire just thinking about dancing. The venue is nice enough but dancing on a grassy slope is dicey no matter whether you dance up and down the slope or across it you need to be sure footed as a mountain goat. Having said all that we danced for two 30 minute sessions punctuated by 30 mins of Desborough Town Band. We were fortunate that we managed to get everyone at the venue which meant most of the dances were for 6. Considering the heat and the dancing area we performed really well. The crowd enjoyed it and we had several enquiries to be followed up in the Autumn. So not at all a bad day and worth turning out for.
