The Coach and Horses - Lubenham - Thursday 20th July 2017
Every Thursday evening during the summer we go out to a different pub and dance. We never know quite what sort of interest we'll get. Audiences range from "disinterested leave me alone I'm out here for a fag" through moderately bewilder by people dressed up in funny gear prancing about waving hankies and sticks to the few people who love to watch but don't like to join in.
Then there are the rare nights like last night at The Coach and Horses. The side were in good form to start maybe because our friend Gordon from Rutland Morris (He's the one with Green and Yellow Baldricks) who had turned up unexpectedly and was sat on the decking having a quiet pint when we started to roll up. The 'lads in the Pool/Snooker room' gave out with the witty banter and a good sized audience assembled which included local cycling legend Vic Barnett who had come out with his wife for a quiet predinner pint. The stars of the evening had to be Will and Mark along with a few of their mates. Having egged each other on with real money about who would or wouldn't dare join in Shepherds Hay ( Thanks chaps for your generosity) they went for it in a big way unfortunately my video expired at the end of the teaching session which will be included. There was a chap filming on his phone so hopefully there will be something - there are some stills in the GalIery. Finally a 'Thank You' for a no less vigorous performance and some kind words from Christine Voelkerling - the pictures are not brilliant as it was getting dark but they will make you smile. Thanks to everyone for making it a great night
