The Chequers - Swinford - Thursday 6th July 2017
Back in it's more modest Blue and White livery the Chequers is some where we always look forward to going to. For no better reason than we share the evening with Coventry Morris Men who are always game for a good time. As usual the village were represented by a smaller audience but who were no less enthusiastic. I also gained some helpers with video and stills cameras with Phoebe , Sophia Harrison and Zavier helping with cameras of dancing. The first four pictures in the gallery were taken by Harrison and three of the video clips were the work of Phoebe and Sophia. We had a full evening of dancing the highlight ow which was either Coventry Morris' Ampleforth Sword Dance where they 'sing' the tune as they do the dance or the '2 sides together' Upton Stick Dance - which looked like mahem but was much fun. Then there were the audience participation dances 'Constant Billy' and Bonny Green Garters for a change.
Last but not least we were also supported Gordon from Rutland Morris to whom I own an apology for getting his name wrong it's Blunt not Blount - sorry Gordon I should know. I've put right as many as I can find .
