The Chequers - Swinford, Thursday 15th July 2015
Best evening so far in the 2015 season with dancing honours shared between Braybrooke and Coventry Morris Men. The village seems to like Morris Dancing , it turns out on the grass verge, applauds and joins in. To top it the Chequers has the event on an advertising board out on the pavement It also provides Sausage and chips for the dancers after Green Garters has been called for.
The dancing was a good mix with Coventry adding their own Sword Dance and a very entertaining audience participation dance the organisation of which proved to be more complicated than just doing the dance - but with some of the audience being quite young the caution was justified and every one came out with the right number of fingers. Traffic congestion was the usual issue but credit to those drivers who took it in good part.
It started to rain just as Green Garters was starting up and there were chips waiting in the pub so as it started to pour we adjourned to the pub.
