Elephant up a pole Wassail - Brandon Marshes - Sunday 13th January 2019
Normally Morris Dancing goes into hibernation during the dark months - dancers and musicians lurking in Village Halls and Pubs in the name of 'Practicing' for the coming season. Occasionally there occur events which are worth getting out of bed for on a Sunday morning. A great example being yesterday at the 'Elephant up a Pole Wassail' which is held annually at Brandon Marshes Nature Reserve just of the A45 south east of Coventry. A couple of hours performing or watching a variety of dancing styles - and consuming pieces of a wonderful cake made by Peter from Braybrooke Morris there was even a buffet lunch for those inclined to hunger. The apple trees
were duly sung and danced to and were bedecked with pieces of toast soaked in last years vintage - which from what I tasted was the best thing for it as my wife's face shows on her first sip.
Dancers included.
Elephant up a pole Border Morris
Coventry Morrismen (Sword and Rapper)
SIlhill Border Morris
Black Annis - Molly Dancers

Step on Board (Clog |and Step Dancers)
Solo Clog Dancer
Thanks to the organisers for making it all happen
