The Fox Inn - Hallaton - 26th May 2016
So about last week's Dancing out at The Fox at Hallaton. The Pub is situated next to the 'Village Pond' and has a narrow frontage but just wide enough to dance on without falling off the curb into the path of an oncoming Tractor. Much to our surprise the front of the pub was encased in scaffolding. So off we went into the Car Park. Parking was fair but with a trend towards 'Free form' or 'abandonment'. It also appeared to be a short F1 Test track as anything from a Mini to a Roller came up or down the tarmac with foot to the floor scattering Morris Dancers to avoid collisions. The Ducks however ignored the risk and strutted up and down as they liked. A few customers , main;y those affected by prohibitions on smoking, came out to watch on what turned out to be a pleasant evening.
Once again we managed to dance some 6 dancer sets and with a bit of adaptation a couple of 4 dancer variations to entertain the audience (do ducks count) for well over an hour.
'Bonny Green Garters' was sung as darkness descended and the Ducks waddled home for supper.
Next week on Thursday 2nd June we're at the Warf at Welford and on Saturday 4th June we're dancing for the 'Macmillan' Cancer Charity at 11.00am in St Marys Place along with (Hopefully) 'Bakanalia Border Morris' and 'Cobbled Together'
