Macmillan Day Collection - St Mary's Place Market Harborough - 21st October 2017
Saturday 21st October saw three local sides , Braybrooke Morris Dancers , Bakanalia Border Morris, and Clog side 'Cobbled together" get together in St. Mary's Place, Market Harborough. The three sides had come together to support Macmillan's collection day, entertaining shoppers and passers by with different stiles of dancing including Cotswold and Border Morris and Clog and sword dancing. Rutland Morris were also represented by Gordon Blunt who often turns out to support Braybrooke Morris Dancers who are still short of dancers. The 3 sides took turns to dance and even got some of the 'passers by' involved in dancing 'Shepherds Hay' . By 1.00 pm it was getting very blustery and looking like storm 'Brian' was about to arrive so the sides retired dancing the traditional farewell dance 'Bonny Green Garters'. The Grand Total collected for the day was £1032.21.
