Desborough Millennium Green Fete - 20th June 2015
Much like the previous week, dancing in the rain supporting Macmillan, the weather for dancing at the Desborough Millenium Fette went from bad to worse as fine drizzle soon turned to proper rain which was persistent. Musicians cowered under umbrellas ,held over them by anyone not dancing to protect their instruments while the dancers soldiered on getting wet. Country dancing by the local schools was abandoned to the St Giles Community Centre due to the grass being slippy but the underfoot conditions didn't bother the side who gave their best in two sets covering 8 or 9 dances. Their performance was cut short by the need to get the 'Magician on stilts entertaining the children during a dry patchin the weather. It was a shame that the weather was unkind as there were plenty of interesting stalls , including a 'Henna Hand Decorating' and an excellent cake stall. Maybe summer will arrive soon ?
