Holy Trinity Church Rothwell Medieval evening - 6th November 2015
The Medieval Evening held at Rothwell's Holy Trinity Parish Church on 6th November organised as a fund raiser was a roaring success.. Many of the local 'Nobility' and 'Peasants' were represented decked out in period costume. It's possibly the first time we have danced in church (Squire David will correct me) and what an experience. A good number of the guests were cajoled into 'learning' the stick dance 'Constant Billy' - (with sticks flying every where I was only too pleased to have adopted my alternative role as photographer).
With an interesting History of Rowell in the Middle Ages followed by Medieval music and song from Alan Hewitt (no relation) and some excellent meaty soup and bread- a good night (or Knight?) was had by all.
